Following the well-established bidding process and interviews with finalists, Smith Group is the selected Architecture and Engineering firm for this building. Believing that it is better to design and equip the laboratory space in this building to meet the requirements of future tenants up-front rather than design it as a generic laboratory with potentially expensive design changes later, we have put together teams of faculty members from across the university campus to help design the laboratory space. To ensure room for expansion in the selected areas or to accommodate future hot area(s) of research, approximately 4,400 square feet of laboratory space has been set aside as uncommitted.
