Homeland Security


Thrust Leader: Chris Cornelius
Drawing on a wealth of diverse resources, ICTAS has recently created a new thrust area dedicated to meeting the growing needs of homeland security. Leadership by Virginia Tech will draw together interdisciplinary teams of internationally recognized research expertise in Nanotechnology, Biology, Cognition and Information Technologies, to better equip our military branches and protect our Nation.

  • VTICNS: The first emergence in the ICTAS Homeland Security area is the strategic partnership with the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division. This led to the creation of the Virginia Tech ICTAS Center for Naval Systems, in support of the core initiative to develop, enable, expand and execute contract research.
