ICTAS Professors Invited to DAAD Science Tour 2009


Roop Mahajan, Director, Institute for Critical Technology and Applied Science (ICTAS) and Thomas Campbell, Associate Director for Special Projects at ICTAS, have been selected to participate in the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) Science Information Tour December 7-11, 2009. The 2009 tour, entitled "Regenerative Energies in Germany: State of the Art and Opportunities for International Cooperation in Research and Higher Education" will originate in Oldenburg and end in Mainz and will include highlights of current developments in engineering in Germany, addressing various aspects of higher education, research funding, interdisciplinary cooperation and industrial application. Special attention will be given to the development of the use of regenerative energies, mainly wind and solar energy. Participation is by invitation resulting from a competitive application process. North American participants are typically senior faculty, researchers and administrators from leading universities in the US and Canada, policy makers in national agencies, and other experts in the fields of science and higher education.
