Sustainable Energy


Thrust Leader: Michael Ellis
ICTAS research is dedicated to discovering alternative energy resources in order to sustain and improve the quality of life as our global population increases from 6 to 10 billion over the next 50 years. In order to address these global energy challenges, basic to applied research is being conducted for developing renewable energy sources with hydrogen and enzymatic fuel cells, solar energy harvesting with organic photovoltaic cells, and collaborative research within the areas of geothermal, hydroelectric, and wind power.
