The Commonwealth of Virginia has announced a new grant program, the Virginia Innovation Partnership (VIP), aimed at moving promising university technologies closer to commercialization. Awards of up to $100,000 will be made in a wide range of fields. Proposals must be submitted by May 18, 2009 and projects are expected to start by July 1, 2009. Fund matching of at least 1:1 is required and a technology transfer pre-review with VTIP will be needed for successful proposals.
